Amaro and Maria Rita Reed welcomed their first son, Robert Cyril Reed, on March 18, 1903. Bobby appears to be between one and two years of age in this photo, so I originally dated the photo as being in 1905. However, I note that Edgar, the second son, was born on January 11, 1905, so have changed the date of this photo to 1904 and assume it was taken later that year.

Assuming 11th January 1905 is
Assuming 11th January 1905 is full term, then date of conception would be about early April 1904. Admittedly Maria is wearing baggy clothing but she does not look like she is in the 7th month plus pregnancy stage, so late 1904 is unlikely. Robert looks about 1, and maybe the photo is to celebrate his one year old milestone, so yes, March-April 1904 is (probably) about right (Maria's clothing would suit the cooler earlier months of 1904 than the summer months of 1904, but then again that was the Edwardian fashion).
Bobby's first birthday!
David, you are much more logical than I am! I'm glad I changed the year back to 1904, in keeping with what you so wisely determined. It makes sense too that they might have been celebrating Bobby's first birthday. Thank you for your input as always.
