Date picture taken (to nearest decade for older photos):
1904

Amaro and Maria Rita Reed welcomed their first son, Robert Cyril Reed, on March 18, 1903.  Bobby appears to be between one and two years of age in this photo, so I originally dated the photo as being in 1905.  However, I note that Edgar, the second son, was born on January 11, 1905, so have changed the date of this photo to 1904 and assume it was taken later that year.

This photo of the Reed family at their home on Broadwood Road was undated. My cousin Mary (Reed) Engesser and I determined the year to be 1918 based on what appears to be the approximate ages of the brothers in the photo.  As a reference, the brothers, from the eldest to the youngest, are Bobby Reed, Edgar Reed, Willie Reed, Arthur Reed, Stephen Reed, Francis Reed and Reggie Reed.

In the above photo, first row from left: Francis, father Amaro John Reed, Reggie, mother Maria Rita Reed and Stephen.  Middle row from left: Edgar, Willie and Bobby. At the top, Arthur.

Wilfred Reed is the father of angie-r, on whose behalf I am posting some details of his life. Information about his brothers' role in the Battle for Hong Kong and his own role in safeguarding the female members of his family is given in the post on Robert Cyril Reed. Margaret Annie Bond, also mentioned on this site was great-aunt to the Reed brothers and Lucretia Murray, wife of Patrick, was their aunt. Amaro and Maria Reed were their parents. Willie Reed was an outstanding sportsman and played hockey for Middlesex.
