A large factory of the Tien Chu Chemical Industries (HK) Ltd was located at 72 Pak Tai Street, Ma Tau Kok/To Kwa Wan and is marked on the 1956 Kowloon map. It occupied a 200,000 ft2 site, and manufactured food additives/powders and raw chemicals, including caustic soda and hydrochloric acid.

It is also referred to as Tien Chu Ve-Tsin Chemical Industries Company.

The Tien Chu (Hong Kong) Company Limited was founded by the famous industrialist Mr Wu Yun Chu in 1921. The manufacturing factory was established in To Kwa Wan, Kowloon in 1937.
