Just by chance I took a look into a book by Angela Terzani, the wife of an Italian journalist. They lived in Ravencourt and left for Beijing on August 23rd, 1980.

I lived at Ravenscourt from the time I was born in 1965 until 1972, when we moved to Mountain Lodge, Mount Kellett Road. One of my abiding memories was sitting on the parapet wall overlooking the harbour in 1972 (?) and watching the QE1 catch fire and sink in the western end of the harbour.

Richard! Do you remember me. We lived upstairs. My sister, Lisa, and I used to play with you guys. I remember sitting on that parapet too!

Hi Jane

Wow - that's funny! I think I do remember you guys, and playing together on the grassy area to the side of Ravencourt. I was back there in summer 2016 and couldn't get all the way up Mount Austin Road to it, but in any event it's been redeveloped I think. It was amazing looking across from Kowloon side at it and also looking down from the top of the Peak tram and thinking we lived there and had the benefit of one of the most famous views in the world.

I've added a guess at a demolition date, based on when the next building on the site was completed. Corrections welcome.
