The rail crossing of the Kowloon-Canton Railway at Lo Wu 1955. The white painted sentry box on the Chinese side was equipped with a Lewis Gun facing us.Other machine guns are visible in the circular sandbagged position.

Just by chance I found on YouTube a film from 1949 titled  Hong Kong Under The Red Shadow Australia's Northern Frontier (1949)

At the end of this short (2:54) film a man walks across the bridge.

The Singapore newsprint highlighted in the earlier post relating to Charles Kennett pilot of a supposed Manila-Hong Kong first flight mentions a Captain Chick, a British military adventurer. Partial clip above

- this 'still' frame is from the same 8mm film and was taken just prior to the footage of the pagoda, if not the same day then probably the same week in 1948.

I am presuming it is a crossing somewhere on the border  - does anyone know?

(I've uploaded another two photos of the same building and fencing.)
