In 1899 HMS Terrible was involved in the Battle of the Taku Forts in north China in which warships of China, Russia and Japan took part. Also involved were 350 members of the Royal Welch Fusiliers, 40 Royal Engineers and 250 British bluejackets. <Read more ...>
Text on Flickr: USS Asheville (PG-21) (Photo #: NH 91411): At Hong Kong, 1924, while serving as flagship of Commander, South China Patrol.
