Look at the cricket pitch all laid out as tennis courts. Was there a tennis season and a cricket season, or was it tennis in the week and cricket at the weekends?

The view south from the beach.

Across the water we see the sea-wall of a reclaimed area of land. Originally it housed oil storage tanks, but a few years after this photo was taken Mei Foo Housing Estate will be built there (Wikipedia says the Estate was built in phases from 1965 to 1978).

Above the reclamation on the right is Stonecutters Island, then in the far distance is Hong Kong island with The Peak on the right.

A segment from a Crown Lands Office 1928 map of the Kai Tak area. Over time the layout in the triangle next to the airfield nullah seems to have had streets added.

Over on Flickr, poster eternal1966 asked if anyone knew the name of the street running along the side of the nullah (drainage channel). Here are some maps of the area, to see if they help answer the question.
