Monument at Lam Tei Irrigation Reservoir [1957- ]

Date Place completed:
1957-03-28

Seems that agriculture was quite important back in 1957. Otherwise, why was the governor invited for the opening ceremony?

Today, there is not much to irrigate, but I still saw maintenance worker there yesterday (2019-2-1). I wonder what the water is used for.

The monument is located below the dam, on the east side.

Irrigation channel near Sam Long [????- ]

As you walk along the last part of Stage 3 of the Wilson Trail, you'll notice an irrigation channel running alongside the path, sometimes on the left, othertimes on the right. It branches away from the main stream quite a distance further ahead, but though the stream flows downhill quite steeply, the channel takes a gentler path and so ends up high on the slope above the stream.

It looks to be used again, as we saw an active vegetable garden nearby. It looks like one of the gardens that rents out small plots to customers.
