On Flickr attributed to 1952, but comments say it was pre-war. Date set to 1940.

Believe there is a war department boundary stone right of the mailbox.

Chinese Houses on 55-45 Haiphong Road [c.1900-c.1959]

Block of four-story houses on Haiphong Road extending from Nathan to Hankow Roads (Lock Road didn't exist then), built on K.I.L. 3 and K.I.L. 401. Appears first on the 1904 map on hkmaps.hk, they were probably built around 1900.

When looking at photos taken after WW 2, the fourth story is missing on the houses near Nathan Road- war damage?

1900s Elgin Road

On Flickr attributed to the 1920s, but Elgin Road became Haiphong Road already in 1909. Possibly taken from Robinson/Nathan Road. 

There is a gas lamp in front of the houses. Public Works Report for 1892 states the erection of gas lamps on this road.
