Wrecked Norwegian ship struck a rock off Cheung Chau 1

Raymond Smith, Jeffrey and Cook swimming around the wreck. The ship, laden with flour and rice, foundered during a foggy night, A note on the back of the photo says "We got one bag"!

Thought to be the village headman, Ah Hing, at Silvermine Bay

My father was deeply impressed by the headman of Silvermine Bay village because he organised all the carriers taking food and other supplies up to the houses on the top of Lantau. This photo is taken from a piece of black and white cine film.

Raymond Smith was very involved in the HKEC Recreation Club and created this invitation to a barbecue in Turtle Cove - a private beach (belonging to HKEC?) available at that time to hire for parties.
