Nanking Hotel [????- ]

This was one of the hotels where the British, American & Dutch civilians were interned before they went to Stanley Camp.

The marker's position isn't accurate. I know from Barbara Anslow's diary that it was along Des Voeux Road, but I'm not sure exactly where.

Searches for Nanking Hotel in the HKPL's online newspaper collection, and in HKGRO, didn't return any results.

Tung Fong Hotel [????-????]

This was one of the hotels where civilians were interned by the Japanese before going to Stanley Camp. I'm not sure of the location yet, but probably in Sheung Wan like the other hotels used for this purpose.

Sun Wah / Xin Hua Hotel [????- ]

After the Japanese occupied Hong Kong in 1941, they interned allied bankers in this building.

The location is given by Tony Banham on the website www.mansell.com:

I believe the wartime address was: 121 Connaught Road, Victoria, Hong Kong and the modern site is: 121 Connaught Road Central, Hong Kong

This 1932 list gives the location of the Station Hotel as KIL 402, which was on the west side of Nathan Road, just opposite the junction with Carnarvon Road.
