1958 New York Theatre

The creamy building across the road is the New York Theatre. The "New York" sign of the Theatre was on Percival Street at the junction with Hennessy Road. The street in front with the line of rickshaws is Lockhart Road.

Dreamland Dance Hall - 189 Gloucester Road. Source: 1948 Telephone Directory. In subsequent years the Lucky Star Bar and Night Club was located at the same address i.e. 189-190 Gloucester Road. The Bar's matchbox confirms the location at the corner of Marsh and Gloucester Roads.
