In the 1945 photo of HKU posted recently, an 8-sided roof down in the foreground caught my eye:

Pineapple Dam [????- ]

One of the dams surrounding the Shing Mun Reservoir.

The dam was built across the old Pineapple Pass. The Pass took its name from the pineapple crop that was grown in the valley. See http://gwulo.com/node/34413 for details.

"Bungalow Dam" Reservoir, Quarry Bay [????-????]

Geoff Wellstead says that people living in Quarry Bay called this the "Bungalow Dam" reservoir. If anyone can tell us its formal name, please let us know.

Hi there,

I believe we have missed this.  Found an online document showing the old service reservoir was a covered brick work marvel.  Unfortunately it had been retired and demonished.  In its place now is a concrete box for Salt Water for flushing.
