History:

Tai Tam Water Supply System possessed a potential for development because of its geographical location and conditions. It is the main source of water supply in early 20th century. The Tai Tam Extension Project involved the construction of the Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir in phase two.

This is at the Hong Kong island end of the under-sea pipeline from Lantau, which brings water from the Shek Pik reservoir.
