On Gwulo we see many photos from the 1950s and 1960s where these building show a “modern” face and are in colour. Didn’t find a photo similar to the one from 1930, so I had to create my own from two photos.

1960 Central waterfront (western part)

Shows buildings on Connaught Road houses nos. 58-97.

On the very right side, a bit of the entrance building of the Osaka Shosen Kaisha (O.S.K.) Wharf can be spotted. The highest building in the back is 189, Des Voeux Road Central [c.1958-c.1993].

On this map, two overhead ropeways are shown. Not clear if they were both active for some time, or only shown on this map.
