I think it would be useful for me to clarify several issues:

Here is one of my architectural drawigs of Hong Kong historial buildings.

Ying Wah College, Bute Street [1928-????]

The new building is listed under "Works Completed" in the PWD's Annual Report for 1928:

The history page on the school's website says the school moved to new premises on Oxford Road in 1963:

St. Thomas Primary School (original location) [1952- ]

Date Place completed:

Original building of the St. Thomas Primary School.

The school moved to a new campus where the Cheung Sha Wan Factory Estate was located (between Pratas Street and Tonkin Street).

The original school building on Nam Cheong Street now houses the Hong Kong Institute of Technology.

Poo Ai Catholic Primary School / Caritas Institute of Community Education [1958- ]

c.1958-01-01 (Month, Day are approximate)

Notes from Mama: The building initially housed Poo Ai Catholic Primary School (1958-2008) and is now the Caritas Institute of Community Education.

Youmati School, Kowloon (Yau Ma Tei)

Can anyone tell me anything about this school. I think it is where my grandfather taught from 1922 until invasion of HK by the Japanese. I don't know why he took up work there as he doesn't appear to have any teaching experience/qualifications unless these were gained via WW1 where he did become an officer. I don't know of any connections he had with HK or the school. Nor do I know how rececruitment may have taken place. On one return trip to HK from UK in 1937 he and his family are listed as Crown Agents.

1967 Ka Ching School at Tai Hang Tung

Another photo of a roof top school.

Comment on Flickr:

There were two Ka Ching Schools (嘉貞學校) in Tai Hang Tung, one in block 7 and one in block 9, this picture was taken at the left end of block 9 near the Tai Hang Tung Road.

The predecessor of La Salle College, the mother school of Bruce Lee.

Built in 1917, now Windsor Mansion 29-31 Chatham Road South (source)

It's the building north of Lyeemoon Villas (see 1920 map). It was demolished together with the villas in 1929/30 to make way for Lyemun Flats.
