The photo was obtained from Facebook's Chinese group Former Neighbors in Sheungwan (上環舊街坊). It attracted a lot of comments. The spot was the bustling intersection of Possession Street, end of Queen's Road Central (photo's background), start of Queen's Road West (where the lady was standing on), and Bonham Strand. Time should be around 1950s-1960s. It appears that the lady was among a VIP group visiting the area and the police blocked it off to enable the VIPs to stroll around. 

Would be interested to see if someone could identify the pretty lady.

1965 Harcourt Road

To me it looks like Harcourt Road looking east. In the back, upon the hill, it looks like Bowen Road. On the right are barracks with a mast (Wellington Barracks?). Most interesting is the Italia pavillion on the right, part of an international fair or exhibition? By the road, pipes are stored (diameter about 1 metre) - for a gas pipeline?

Any other ideas?
