Interesting series of photos of 'allied' soldiers taken during China 1900-01 -- this hi-res shot describes these troops as from Hong Kong. Presumably the photos were taken in Peking, when soldiers from a collection of nations invaded Peking in 1900 to end the Boxer Rebellion and lift the siege of the foreign legations. Incidentally the invasion was probably the first United Nations-type action, given the number of diverse nations involved (while many of the troops were colonial conscripts).
