Mt. Cameron Japanese PB/Tunnel Entrance

Sharp drop into the tunnel housed within the PB walls.

Japanese Tunnel Pok Fu Lam Reservoir (Below PB) [c.1942- ]

Date Place completed:
c.1942-11-30 (Year, Month, Day are approximate)

A single tunnel extending into hillside. Entrance is largely silted up but it opens up a bit and extends sloping up into hillside, could be more entrances around. North-West of the PB around 30 meters or so. It is along a ravine next to a pipe line running down from the edge of the covered reservoir area toward HKU buildings.

Condition as of April 2020, we didn't venture inside.

If anybody has a map or description of the tunnel, pls come forward.

Japanese Tunnel above Shau Kei Wan [????- ]

The "Hiking Trail HK" App (avail on Android) shows a Japanese Tunnel here.

I have passed by recently but couldn't see anything.

Can anyone verify this place or has more information?

Japanese Wartime Tunnel system behind AOP Matilda [????- ]

Directly behind the AOP Matilda a tunnel entrance in N direction leads into a system with 2 further exits. One exit in W and one E direction of the ridge leading up to Matilda.

Very easy to reach, just climb over the railing at the very southern grass lawn edge from Matilda and head down the ribbon trail for about 40m until you hit the British built AOP.

Japanese wartime near Hong Pak Country Trail [????- ]

Just a short stroll from Hong Pak Country Trail there's a Japanese Tunnel System dug into the slope. I remember 3 entrances/exits. 2 of which are easily accessible.

Best access is from the Hong Pak Country Trail. You will pass by another open Japanese tunnel just off the trail. Continue slightly uphill again to the flat plateau where you find a slightly confusing network of small trails.

Follow the one leading down the ridge and you won't miss it.

Japanese Wartime Tunnels off Hong Hong Pak Country Trail [????- ]

Just 20m West off Hong Pak Trail (A ribbon path will guide you) once can find an open and easy accessible Japanese Tunnel Entrance. To the left of this tunnel on the same side of the hill there's another 3 potential but now covered former tunnel entrances. Just follow the the relatively short concrete water conduit for about 60m.

Does anyone have any aerials from the area from WW2?

There's a myriad of small paths in the area, not all have ribbons or are on hiking/gov apps&maps.
