Caption states the image was taken by well-known HK based photographer John Thomson in a location  that was later to become the New Territories.

Note-the posted caption location has now been identied as incorrect. See below.

Doris & Veronica Walker, Blue Mountains 1946

Following her reunion with her parents, Vernon and Doris Walker, in Australia after the war, this is the second of the two photos that Veronica Walker sent to my cousin, Diana Warren, her childhood friend from Hong Kong. The note on the back reads "Mummie and I taken in the Blue Mountains last Easter - book "Mirage" written by my Aunt in England." The photo was taken at the same time and on the same bench as the one with her father, Vernon Walker - that is Easter 1946.

Vernon Walker and his wife, Doris, were interned in Stanley Camp. Their daughter Veronica Walker was evacuated to Australia. This is one of two photos that Veronica sent to her friend in Canada after she was reunited with her parents. Her note on the back reads "Daddy and I taken last Easter 1946".
