This is a mounted and signed studio portrait dated 1951 of Neva Green, daughter of the former Superintendent of Forestry in Hong Kong, Harold Green. The handwritten legend reads "Neva Green. Born Hong Kong. Father head of the Forestry Dept. Lived next to Government House." By the time this second photo was sent to her, Cicely Warren would have been a widow for nine years and emigrated from England to Canada with her two children. <Read more ...>

This photo of Neva Green, daughter of the long serving Superintendent of Forestry, Harold Green, may not have been taken during his time in Hong Kong, but was probably sent from England to the Warrens after Mr Green's retirement in July 1937. Neva Green must have been a friend of my uncle's wife, Cicely Warren. This is the earlier of two photos of her in the Warren collection, which, if they come across it, might be of interest to descendants of the Greens. <Read more ...>

The legend on this photo reads "Conte Rosso. Passing through Suez Canal. 1938" It must have been taken on Cicely Warren's final voyage home with her children in 1938 after fifteen years in Hong Kong. Presumably they themselves were on a different ship. <Read more ...>
