Bonham Road & Centre Street looking West to Greenmount & Balls Court

A great view of Western Mid Levels c1870. The photographer is standing at the junction of Robinson Road (Today Park Road) & Bonham Road looking west. Centre Street is middle right. Babington Path (not yet named when the photo was taken) runs up the hill in the centre of the picture, running past the house called Greenmount. To the right of Greenmount is Craigellachie with Ball's court furthest to the right on the other side of Bonham Road. 

This photographer is likely William Floyd or John Thomson.

Fairlea is the building top left with the Church Mission house top middle and Sunnyside top right.  The building bottom left was occupied by a Mr Mow Fung at some point. The road running left to right in the foreground is Third Street.

The Reformatory School and Orphanage [c.1864-????]

The Reformatory School and Orphanage, situated at West Point, started by Father T Raimondi of the Italian Mission in 1864 and now under the control of the Vicar Apostolic, — provides education in the native tongue for Chinese boys from the age of eight years.It also takes in and cares for the deaf, the dumb and the blind, and in cases of reformatory treatment finds occupation for its inmates in the learning of useful trades.
