On our visit to Hong Kong in August 1980 we made a sampan ride through Aberbeen harbour. We saw many boats with people who seemed to live there. I'm not sure, but there is a slight memory that refugees lived there whowere not allow to go ashore.

Not often pictured are merchant ships inside Aberdeen's harbour. Seen in the background. This is claimed to be the 1940s and now the site of the Aberdeen Centre. Presumably they are to be using the drydock that was there.
