Pak Mong Village Incinerator [????- ]

Marker is approximate.  It is no longer in use but the last time I walked passed the village a few years ago, it was still there.  It had been a piece of very nice brick work.  Street View still has an image of it.

Having landed at Silvermine Bay, the early stages of the walk were through rice paddy fields to reach the bottom of the trail up the mountain.. It's difficult to imagine this form of transport in post-colonial times.

Joseph was posted to Hong Kong with the RAF.  He worked on the development of radar.  On 26 March 1946 was in an aircraft which crashed on Lantau Island.  He is buried in Sai Wan Cemetery.
