Kennedy Road was the second east-west road in Hong Kong. PWR for 1876 mentions the construction of this road. Garden Road already appears on the 1866 map. So the junction was built likely in the late 1870s.

Recently I posted an old photo of John Thomson 1868. I was not quite sure where to place the location. It was written Happy Valley on it.
Marlowe did send me thankfully an answer on the location of the old photo, that it must be Garden Road. Here I found the same location from before and how it looks today. It's definately Garden Road. Once again, thank you Marlowe.
