Very distinctive building with large central balconies, probably on Kennedy Road. Think the original photo was taken from Spring Garden Lane just north of the bend, the smaller lane should be Sam Pan Street. Up on the hill in this direction would be Hysan Lee family mansion, but I'm not sure.
Kennedy Road was the second east-west road in Hong Kong. PWR for 1876 mentions the construction of this road. Garden Road already appears on the 1866 map. So the junction was built likely in the late 1870s.

Semi detached residence above Kennedy Road. Constructed in the 1920s. Replaced by Sakura court in the 1970s. Originally numbered 22 Kennedy Road until November 1927.
