As mentioned in my previous post, I took this photo of the grave inscription of William Redwood, father of Barbara Anslow in 2013 at Barbara's request. I was already goinng to the cemetery to visit the graves of some of my family, which are also in the upper part. Barbara was wondering if her father's grave needed cleaning. I don't know if she was able to bring that about.

Andrew Suddaby's post about the top end of the Happy Valley Cemetery at https://gwulo.com/atom/38499 made me recall a visit there I made via the little gate from Stubbs Road. For the upper graves it is a much easier entry point than climbing up from the bottom of the cemetery. Barbara Anslow had asked me to take a photo of the grave of her father, William Redwood in case it needed cleaning. Like many of the graves it had suffered. I will post another photo of the inscription as it was then.

One of the many copies of "Tin Hats and Rice" that Barbara signed after her lecture was that of Yvonne Foley who founded the project on the Chinese Seamen of Liverpool.

Barbara Anslow has sent this photo of her father, William Redwood, taken early in 1940. In fact it is a photocopy of the actual photo.
