My grandfather Pieter Marks (on the right) with Dutch friends, probably Pieter Julius de Kant (at that time, like my grandfather, employed at the Hong Kong agency of the Dutch-Indies Commercial Bank, the Nederlandsch-Indische Handelsbank) and his spouse Kitty Rachel De Kant-Ricardo and child. On the basis of other family photographs this picture seems taken at the house at Lugard Road (no 32?) where my grandparents lived at that time (arounf 1925).

This picture was orginally taken as a set of four single pictures that I have merged to one panorama picture. Sorry for the stains on the original pictures.

It was taken from the living room of our house at 31, Lugard Road by my father in 1981.

It shows Kennedy Town and the much wider harbour at the eighties.

Also the fortress on Hatton Road is on the picture and to the left Green Island. Straight ahead towards Kowloon is Stonecutters Island.
