Photos of Edith Jacks

Hi Everyone

I have written the biography of Hong Kong Land Officer Philip Jacks (1877-1941). My book is to be published in late February by Australian Scholarly Publishing. I have two photos of Philip Jacks but would very much appreciate a picture of his wife Edith (nee Edith Elliot Kirkpatrick Picard) or any of the Jacks children--Harold, Mary or Audrey.

If you know of any photos please get in contact with me: rohan.price@utas.edu.au

How to add links to other pages

Links make it easy to show pages to other readers. So instead of writing:

You can find the answer on the FAQs page.

You can add a link so the reader just clicks the link and goes straight to the page you want:

You can find the answer on the FAQs page: http://gwulo.com/node/4713

Another approach is to turn your text into a link:

You can find the answer on the FAQs page.

Evidence of the area that a place name refers to

My friend is doing a project and is looking for textual evidence of the area (or boundary of the area) that a place name refers to.  For example, what area does the place name "Wan Chai" include or describe?

For now, he is working on three place names -- Wan Chai, Pok Fu Lam and Ngau Tau Kok.  The evidence can be historical or current, but cannot be graphic or based on maps.  If you come across such pieces of evidence, please post them here.  Thank you!

In addition, you can share your opinion about the boundaries of these or any other place names.

SYDNEY OLD HONG KONG HANDS

In Sydney there are periodic lunches convened under the name of the "Fragrant Harbour" lunch group. They are very informal and usually occur the third Wednesday of the month. The next lunch will be January 21. If there are any old HK hands interested in joining this lunch please let me know. The only requirement is that you have lived and worked in HK during the past few decades.
