My father worked for the Marine Department (Harbour Office). Between the end of WWII and the late 60s, he was stationed and worked at Green Island (off Kennedy Town), Blackhead's Hill (Tsimshatsui), North Point (on top of Ferry Pier East) and at the head office in Rumsay Street, Central. Luckily, he wasn't stationed at Waglan's because it would have meant staying on a "barren rock" for 2-week shifts at a time and having to be hoisted/lowered and swung in a basket from the pier to the lighthouse on the top of the hill.  surprise
