Other versions of the postcard are titled Sampan Street, Hong Kong, Spring Garden and Sampan Street (Spring Garden Lane). As Sampan Street is L-shaped, I think one is looking east at Sampan Street from Spring Garden Lane. The hill in the background is Hospital Hill.
