Scene outside the Tin Hau Temple in Causeway Bay. The dotting of the eyes ceremony of the "Coronation Dragon" was performed at the Tin Hau Temple. The dragon, 180 feet long was "endowed with life" in preparaton for the Dragon Procession on 2 June 1953. China Mail 1 June 1953 refers. <Read more ...>

View along Nathan Road in southerly direction possibly taken from the HK Telephone Building. The largest building is the Peninsula Hotel, and we can see a couple of roads going west (right): Salisbury and Middle Roads near the hotel, then Peking Road, and finally (in the foreground) a short road that leads to Lock Road which didn't have a junction with Peking Road at this time.
Many of the houses visible were built around 1930, and they will be demolished shortly after this photo was taken. <Read more ...>
