This is just about the last of the photos I have from HK. This was a stop on a NT tour I went on. There was a small souvenir stand nearby, and I bought an english-language copy of Mao's little red book there. Do I misunderstand, or was there also a "Tai Pak" in Aberdeen harbor also? <Read more ...>
The floating restaurant can just be seen nestled in the corner lower right hand side. Most of this area of water has since been reclaimed and built on.
The white arc-deco building in the left background is still there. It was used as a Boy's Home in the 1990s. In the 1980s a floating restaurant type vessel was moored out in Castle Peak Bay with two large 7Up advertising logos on it. I believe it was used as a fishermen's community centre as well as some sort of restaurant.
