This fine looking roadster is being admired by some of the locals. Olga Blake (formerly Robinson) is eated with her mother. I do not know the name of the driver; he is perhaps the owner of the vehicle.

Shanghai Street between Kansu and Pak Hoi, looking south.  The car is a 1959 Chevrolot.  The licence plate might help refine the date of this photo.

Man Mo Temple

Man Mo Temple on Hollywood Road. Possibly in the 1960's (guessed from the car). In the back is a Volkswagen Beetle, so its definitely after 1945.

As I understand it, there were only 150 cars left in HK at Liberation, and this pre-war Vauxhall was one of them. It had been through the Occupation in Japanese hands, and the floor rusted through within a couple of years of my father acquiring it in earlyish 1946. The pic is probably about 1947, and my best guess is that it is outside the Butterfield and Swire waterfront offices in Connaught Rd.
