Hong Kong was a critical juncture point for air connections - certainly for Pan Am, both before and after the war.  It was a favorite stop for Pan Am crews and passengers alike. One of the legendary stories that have come down the years is that of "Sampan Annie," the woman whose abilities as a "waterman" in handling Pan Am's big flying boats as they were guided to the dock adjacent to the Kai Tak Aerodrome became famous.

Passenger list extract from a Pan American Trans-Pacific Clipper flight from Hong Kong to Honolulu via Manila. The two young Soong girls appear to be from the Chinese government's TV Soong's family. Presumably the two adult females are escorts.

No doubt someone will be able to identify where 251 Repluse Bay was or still is?

Wedding photo of Mark Tsui Shing-cheung (BAAG No.56) and Agnes Lin Kit-man in 1946 at Roary Church Tsimshatsui. 

Agnes Lin passed away in Hong Kong in January 2015.  Mark Tsui passed away in Toronto in 1996.

Picture taken soon after Japanese surrender.  BAAG AHQ East was awaiting orders to proceed to Canton where they participated in the Allied Victory Parade led by Chinese Admiral Chan Chak KBE who was appointed Mayor of Canton.

Former BAAG colleagues - Paul Tsui (R) visited Macao early 1970 as guest of Y.C. Liang (L).  Photo probably taken at the Greyhound Racetrack.  While Paul Tsui was at the East River Forward Area (centred at AHQ Waichow), and Liang operated in Macao under Forward Area 2 (West River) centred at Sam Fou (Kaiping) during the War, they became good friends post-War.

Although the majority of British, American and Dutch nationals were moved to internment camps, Charles Schafer and four other American citizens employed by Pan American Airways and CNAC managed to escape internment by securing passes to work for the Hong Kong Medical Dept.
