This segment of a larger circa 1940 map shows a development proposal for Tsim Sha Tsui which relocates the railway terminus, moves the Star Ferry piers to where Holt’s Wharf was, and moves cargo unloading around the corner. Included, is what looks like a traffic free plaza where the present bus terminus next to Star House is now (emulating a more recent government proposal).

Standard Oil Co. / Mobil oil berth and tank farm [1909-????]

Before the Mei Fu Estates were built, the area was owned by an oil company (Mobil)? who had fuel tanks on the site. Laichikok Bay is nearby and Tsing Yi Island is seen in the far distance

A poor quality image.

Repair crew are sitting on a boiler's chain-grate which feeds coal into/under the boiler. The Japanese were operating the power station's boilers with wood instead of coal by the end of the war.
