I'm fairly sure this was taken in Hong Kong from the age of the young ladies, despite the fact that one of them is wearing a hat showing the badge of the Public and Thomas Hanbury School, Shanghai.
Are those Dairy Farm ice cream cups? Where are they? Looks like somewhere out in the NTs that you had to drive to.
This morning Paul Harrison took me along to see what he's called the 'Lego building': granite blocks and columns stacked up on a patch of flat ground below lower Baguio Villas.
Does anyone know the story behind them?

This image is believed to be the East Praya contractor's steam locomotives involved in the reclamation works. However the newsprint doesn't actually say so. Similar reclamation works were being done elsewhere around this time, notably at Kai Tak and the land formation for the Kowloon Tong estates using narrow gauge railways with similar contractor's locomotives. The backgound hills may give a clue. The tree in the right seems to be a bit too substantial to be growing on newly reclamation land. <Read more ...>
