Enquiry - Evolution of Kowloon City (Lung Shing)

Kowloon City (especially the currently Lung Shing constituence) has quite a interesting history. I learnt that the area was previously scattered with several villages and later there is a development of the Kowloon Street (a local market); and then a pier that links to it. The Kai Dak reclamation also took several stages to be completed.

Prince Edward Road West-1938-later demolished by the Japanese

Not often seen in photographs. Prince Edward Road West near the Kai Tak developments, mostly demolished by the Japanese in 1942 to extend Kai Tak Airport. The building at the end of the road I presume is Kowloon City Police Station or government offices. Corrections invited.

Not many pictures from this angle of an area of Kowloon City on the right hand side that was to be raised to the ground by the Japanese to extend Kai Tak aerodrome in 1942. The Central British School ( now KGV) is prominent in the background
