On the 14th October, 1906, Hankow was gutted by fire, whilst alongside the Canton Steamer Wharf at Hong Kong, as a result of a passenger's cooking stove overturning. One hundred and thirty people were killed in C.N.Co.’s worst-ever (non- wartime )disaster. <Read more ...>

Shows very clearly buildings on Connaught Road Central. Photo from the late 1920s, Central Fire Station built already.

At the end of the ricksha queue is the Duke of Connaught Statue (2nd location) and (on the right) Blake Pier.
