View from the second floor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's visiting professor / student accommodation, Pak Sui Yuen 百粹苑 (now the site of Hotel Icon) on Science Museum Road 科學館道, Tsim Sha Tsui East 尖東.

In the background is, on left, the Chinachem Golden Plaza 華懋廣場 (with cinema) and, on right, the New Mandarin Centre 新文華中心, with the "delightful" Club BBoss.

I'm not sure where this is. I seem to remember it was near the "other side" of Canton Road, perhaps somewhere up into Jordan, around Ferry Street area? Certainly somewhere I only went once by car or taxi.

Hoi Sham Island (海心島), also called To Kwa Wan Island (土瓜灣島), is a former island in Kowloon Bay off the coast at an urban and bay of To Kwa Wan. The island was famous for the Hoi Sham Rock (海心石) and Fishtail Rock (魚尾石), and was believed to be a place of good Feng Shui. A Hoi Sham Temple (海心廟, also 龍母廟) was originally located on the island.

This hotel was built in 1982 and was connected directly to Hong Kong Kai Tak airport via a long walkway which ran via the airport parking garage (upper & lower left photos). The Five Continents Restaurant (upper right photo) on the 14th floor had spectacular views of the airport and runway; it was reportedly a popular place for off-duty airline crews to dine. Adjacent to the restaurant was the Flying Machine Bar.
