The position of PB12 where the one legged Chinese Admiral Chan Chak's escape launch was shot up from as his party were escaping to find the 2nd MTB Flotilla.
Although the wartime maps don't show the location of pillbox 061, we're guessing this is where it was.

Monday's walk was one of those 'it's the journey, not the destination' outings. In theory I was going to find the location of pillbox 72, but in any case it was lovely weather, and a good excuse to scramble over some rocks. <Read more ...>
Interesting to see there was a gas station on the junction even then, and apparently under the same management. In 1941 the station sign says 'Texaco', and today's station is the ground floor of a building named Caltex House, Texaco being an ancestor of the Caltex brand.
