Pillbox 006, Pok Po Wan / Waterfall Bay [1939- ]

Date Place completed:
1939-01-01

The wartime map shows this pillbox on the shoreline.

The pillbox is mentioned several times in documents related to the Telegraph Bay redevelopment, which was later named Cyberport. First there is the 'Final EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) Report for Agreement No CE 92/97' which says:

Japanese pillbox at Tai Hom / Diamond Hill

Pillbox 005, Kong Sin Wan / Telegraph Bay [1939-????]

Date Place completed:
1939-01-01

The wartime map shows this pillbox on the pre-reclamation shoreline.

I don't know if there are any traces of the pillbox remaining, but if you have any memories or photos of where it was and how it looked, please leave a comment below.

Pillbox 004, Kong Sin Wan / Telegraph Bay / Cyberport [1939-????]

Date Place completed:
1939-01-01

The wartime map shows this pillbox was on the shoreline, before Telegraph Bay was reclaimed and became the Cyberport development.

I don't know if there are any traces of the pillbox remaining? I thought I had seen a photo on the internet recently, with a comment that it was soon to disappear. But this report before the cyberport development started suggests it may have been left untouched:

Pillbox 003, Kong Sin Wan / Telegraph Bay [1939-????]

Date Place completed:
1939-01-01

The wartime map shows this pillbox on the shoreline.

I don't know if there are any traces of the pillbox remaining, but if you have any memories or photos of where it was and how it looked, please leave a comment below.

Pillbox 002, Pok Fu Lam [1939-????]

Date Place completed:
1939-01-01

The wartime map shows this pillbox was on the seaward side of Pok Fu Lam road, in front of Queen Mary Hospital.

I guess it has been demolished during one of the road widenings, but if you have any memories or photos of where it was and how it looked, please leave a comment below.

Wong Nai Chong Gap PB 3, Wong Nai Chong Gap [1940- ]

Date Place completed:
1940-01-01

This pillbox is shown as 'PB3' on a hand drawn map included in the War Diary of Major E.G. Stewart. I'm not sure if 'PB3' was the 'official' reference for the pillbox or just his personal numbering system, as there was another Pillbox number 3 on the Western shore of HK island, between Sandy Bay and Telegraph Bay.
