Causeway Bay history exhibition

the Hysan company has put on an impressive three-floor exhibition, with maps, models and photos, of Causeway Bay and its history. Downstairs the focus is on the old Lee Theatre and cinemas in the area, 2nd floor is more broad and the third floor focuses on restaurants and Hysan developments over the decades. Worth going to if you're in the area. It's in Lee Garden. Lots about Jardines, the old Lee garden etc

qing scholars at HKU

i womder if any one might have their ancestors teaching chinese at HKU in the 20s and 30s. i would be very interested to see any personal photos or official departmental literature in that era.

How to contact old friends?

I'm Steve Brown, UI 26419, ex-PTS Squad PI 89. I want to get in touch with others of that era but especially Ray Carpenter.

The bugger recruited me into the Marksman's unit without letting me know what was in store for me!

structure on top of lion rock

i noticed several structures built on top of lion rock. some with a top of a dome like our space museum, and there are also some circular metallic objects dangling around. there are air conditioners so i suspect they're staffed. i'd like to know the proper names, functions and the department they belong to.

Duddell Street steps damaged!!

Saw this on FB posted by one of the editors at HK mag. Looks like workman removed a balustrade and damaged one of the bases of the gas lamps so they could fit a projector in there for a party.

The AMO has been informed but they need more info. If anyone can help please contact HK Mag or the AMO.
