Far Eastern economic review - 1953

The first Union Church was built -on the site of the old St. Andrew's College in Staunton Street

They got their story wrong that time - the first Union Church was on Hollywood Road.

Set demolition date to 1890. The church's website says:

In 1890 the church was moved stone by stone to the present Kennedy Road site.

The laying of the cornerstone for the Union Church at Kennedy Road was on April 10th 1890

HK Daily Press 13 April 1865

The new Union Church at Elgin and Staunton Streets will be opened on 16 April 1865.

In 1889, the site on Staunton Street was purchased by the Hong Kong Land Investment Agency Company Ltd.  For the next 12 months, service was held at the City Hall until the 'new' Church on Kennedy Road was open to worshippers on 11 January 1891.
