Hi there,
I have one observation. The tram tracks at Tin Lok Lane did not turn east back in the 1930's. As far as I could recall Hong Kong Tramways only started the Happy Valley <-> Shaukiwan route in the middle or late 1970's.

I'm a big fan of HKMan's pictures. It's a real shame no one has picked him out for a book yet because he obviously spends a lot of time and effort doing these shots.

I believe this would be of help indicating the changes, extracted from the 1st official book of Hongkong Tramways.
Eastbound Tram direction from Tin Lok Lane
I recall the easbound turn from Tin Lok Lane ocurred in the 1970s. Same time frame as Thomas indicates.
