The Wedding of Doris Brooks and Duncan MacPherson (Sgt in HK Police) in Stanley Internment Camp, Hong Kong, on 9th June 1943 during WWII.  The mother of Doris, Emily Brooks, and her brother, Roland (Ron) Brooks, were also interned in the camp. It was also the birthday of Ron Brooks.

A trigonometrical station built by the Japanese in WWII

This is a trigonometrical station built by the Japanese in WWII, with words '3rd level trigonometrical station' carved on one side.

Today, the trigonometrical stations in Taiwan and Japan are still in the same specification with this.

says taken in Hong Kong though no real way to check. Curious about the story behind this - who was the guy not in uniform sitting down? The soldier's arm band says Gendarme which suggests he was based in an British/International colony. (from photo album from captured soldier)
