Taken from Victoria Peak in westerly direction around sunset. Mount Davis is in the centre, behind it a couple of islands can be seen:

Green Island with Little Green Island at the right-hand side, directly behind Mount Davis are Kai Yi Chau, Siu Kau Yi Chau, Peng Chau, and Lantau in the back.

On top of Mount Davis a couple of antennas appear. At the extreme right-hand side the Kennedy Town Munipicial Incinerator is visible.

Lai Chi Kok government incinerator-1968

When built the incinerator was not surrounded by housing estates. Mei Foo estate is just starting to take over its site.

The long narrow building behind the incinerator was the KMB bus depot maintenance and parking depot.

Now site of very tall multi-storey housing blocks.

It had a tall chimney with white stripes painted around it.

This was taken from Victoria Peak in north-westerly direction. The houses in front are in Sai Wan. The wide building in Sai Wan is Kwan Yick Building Phase 3 at 271-285 Des Voeux Road West, first occupation in 06/1978.

Rambler Channel

Before the many crossings that now exist, only one bridge gave access to Tsing Yi Island. This was built as a joint cost project by the government, China Light & Power and other companies with interests on the island.
