Tsing Tsuen Bridge, also called Tsing Yi North Bridge, opened to traffic on 11 December 1987.
Tsing Yi North Bridge was, when opened in 1987, Hong Kong's largest prestressed balanced cantilever bridge with a main navigation span of 160 metres, side spans of 90 metres, and approach viaducts that brought the total length to 1,015 metres.The design can support a 2-way and 4-lane traffic. Construction of the Tsing Yi Power Plant started in 1966, the first turbine was commissioned in April 1969. It was oil fired, a tank farm was built next to it. From 1968 onwards, five chimneys were set up. At the foreground is NE of Tsing Yi Island. In the middle, is CRC Oil Depot on Nga Ying Chau. At the left background is Tsuen Wan Town and Fuk Loi Housing Estate is at the far end.
