Western Market is in view on the right waterfront and still exists as a tourist's venue. The Marine Department's building can be seen on the left waterfront, but no longer exists, The white building with the tower.

Not much recognisable today. HK Electric's power station is extreme right belching out smoke from its chimney. Taikoo dockyard can be seen in the distance. A reservoir high on the hillside would have been a danger to those below if its walls were ever to breach.

This photo was taken by my father either in the late 50's or early 60's - we had a yacht there in the marine - or "typhoon shelter" as it was called - and would venture out every weekend to one of the glorious bays or beaches around the island.
