Aerial view Kowloon/TST

The source of the image on flickr is: https://www.flickr.com/photos/129372920@N08/17468774262/ with the title: "4-5-52- Hong Kong". The original image shows colour faults, on the displayed one it's corrected.

Nice aerial view showing southern and eastern shores of TST. Near the wing is Holt's Wharf, behind it Signal Hill. In the back there could be Chatham Road Camp. The barracks at the eastern shore are unknown to me.

This goes with comments on the  http://gwulo.com/node/28381  page where I mentioned the filling station at the junction of Gascoigne and Nathan Road. This and the following pictures were all taken during 1967 - none show the filling station! I'll see if I can find it ...

I took this one oof the Alhambra Building and Kowloon Central Post Office whilst circling over Kowloon in one of the Government helicopters.

Source unknown to me.  Belcher's Gardens under construction, hence possibly 1955.  Co-op Housing Scheme for mid-ranking local civil servants.  Top terrace shown with huge canon in the middle.  Six blocks of four storeys with two numbers each.  Total 52 numbers on 5 or 6 terraces.  Private thoroughfare connected Polfulam Road to Shek Tong Tsui.  Gates at both ends with watchmen posts.

Adjacent HKU Lady Hotung Hall for girls and Ricci Hall for boys, as well as the Botany & Zoological Faculty.

Places shown in this photo:

The 'Canberra' is berthed on the south side of the Ocean Terminal. The upper-most pier has HK's first container crane on its deck. The adjacent area where the short-lived 'Sea Terminal' was is now a container stacking yard. On Nathan Road the Sheraton Hotel appears to be under construction.
